You frown as you run through the message.
“It sounds like dig at the fireplace, bottom of the stairs?” you say, confused. “I told them we couldn’t get down safely. And does this tower even have a fireplace?”
“Oh! I think I know,” Anthony exclaims. “It’s not ‘fireplace’, it’s ‘chimney’. Which this tower doesn’t really have either, but it has something close to it. Follow me.”
You follow him through the door, then climb a few steps to reach a new floor. Near the stairs going further up, you see the bottom of some kind of chute.
“What, they want us to climb it?” you ask incredulously.
“No, the code mentioned digging,” Anthony reminds you. “I think they’re trying to break it from their side while we break it from this one.”
“Break it with what, exactly?” you ask. “By the gods, please don’t tell me you brought a pickaxe up here while you were panicking.”
“I don’t think I did, but, um, I don’t remember a lot about coming up here,” Anthony admits sheepishly. “I wasn’t thinking clearly, so I didn’t really focus on the details. But I believe I noticed something useful in one of these boxes.”
You find:
A rusty shovel
A spare blade left behind
A spoon
Several metal gauntlets (the fingers could be used as makeshift levers)
A small mallet
Some random gardening tools
