Swamped

Swamped Chapter 212 Page 12

Lee is taking the cart towards a particular fence which happens to have an open gate. You know where it is. It’s a book store, one that you visited almost every day in your youth. The only possible path through there is from the back door of the bookstore to the front – the fence blocks it off fully from the sides.

Which is worrying. Since you went there so often, any obvious damage would be noticeable to your younger self, risking a time paradox.

You’ll need to directly contact someone in the group to get them to change plans, though, and most likely you’ll need to use magic to shake off their pursuers. That will take enough concentration that you don’t think you can maintain the noise block on the boss, so you need to make sure you’re ready. You start by just sending a simple message to Minnie so she can contact you.

I think the mana root’s wearing off, she sends. Won’t be able to keep up a long conversation. If there’s anything you can’t say to Norle, make it quick.

Bad idea to go in bookstore, you reply. Need you to cast one simple spell, Norle and I will handle the rest.

  1. Ask her to use all her remaining mana root energy to push one side of the cart as much as she can with wind – then either you or Norle will lift and push it on the opposite side as much as possible, Minnie’s spell will only serve to ensure the cart stays in one set of wheels and veers off

Make ice or change the property of the floor to be slippery, so you can easily redirect the cart
Ask her to vibrate the wheels as much as she can, making the ride bumpier, you guys could then amplify the momentum and make the cart bounce way up
