We probably need as much focus on Blade as we can get, you reply. He seems to be the most dangerous one here. And I don’t think it will be hard to deal with the crossbow, so I’ll help out on him if needed.
Got it. I’ll tell Norle to act like she pulled any magic trick you need to do, Minnie replies. You’re in way less danger than any of us, so good luck.
You turn your attention to the archer. They’ve got one bolt loaded in. You can easily deal with that – it’s just a matter of increasing the weight slightly. Too little for the archer to notice the extra, but enough to throw off the trajectory. That should ensure the first shot misses, and if there are further ones, you can deal with them as they come.
For now, you need to keep an eye on Blade. Chald suddenly starts talking to Lef, which causes Blade to turn and size up the new arrival. Lef then moves in to attack from behind. Blade notices, and swings his sword, but someone else lunges at him from a third angle.
Blade catches that, too, and continues his swing while punching the third attacker. But he didn’t realize that the lunge was coming from one of his own allies – it’s the unconscious woman in Minnie’s clothes, no doubt set in motion by Norle.
Who has, you believe, just delivered a good smack to Blade’s sword hand. The sword drops to the ground, and Lef quickly picks it up.
Blade seems unperturbed at being totally unarmed. He even seems to have already realized that the knife on his belt is missing – he hasn’t even tried to grab for it. In fact, he seems to have worked out that one of his assailants is invisible – at least, you can’t think of another reason why he’d pick up the unconscious woman and try to hit thin air with her. Luckily, Norle appears to have crouched down to the ground already.
What’s not so fortunate is, she’s apparently not able to concentrate on hiding both the cloak and herself. Minnie is suddenly very visible. And two hirelings she was about to ambush are now looking right at her.
Even if you or Norle were to hide her again, they could probably get in a few good hits before she could get to safety. Not to mention alert others to her presence. So you think you’d better deal with this problem quickly, before they have time to react.
Remove almost all of Minnie’s weight, and tell her to jump, once she’s level with you, push her away with wind and increase her gravity little by little so she lands somewhere else safely
Cover her up completely with the concrete floor, forming a small cage, to protect her momentarily
Augment her density to make her impervious to attacks for a little bit
Time magic to speed her up?
