The “mountain” takes notice of you, and very suddenly turns into an enormous bird.
Why have you come here, mortal? the bird asks in a booming voice.
I didn’t mean to, you explain hurriedly. I noticed something unusual on a roof, and I investigated it, and then it drew me in and I was here. Wherever here is. I don’t suppose you can send me back somehow?
The bird gives you a long and hard look, then spreads its enormous wings and starts flapping. This produces a great wind, and you find yourself flying backwards even though you don’t have a physical form. But then, you suspect this place isn’t physical to begin with.
And the next thing you know, you’re on the roof again, being blown backwards. That was very confusing, and you have an unsettling feeling that you’re going to learn more about it later.
For now, though, it’s best that you get back on task. You float down into the hospital.
However – you decide to check the lost property room first, just in case it’s the right time. The beetles spell out NOT YET, but just as you finish reading that, they shift to spell another message.
