He heads further away than you expected, running down a street you don’t recognize. Eventually he ducks into a building – looks like a fishmonger’s.
He’s in such a rush he leaves the door open, so you follow behind…
And the moment you step in, you feel strange. Like something in your mind is silently warning you to get out of there.
Well, you’ve gone with your gut feelings a lot lately, and this is way stronger than any of those, so you opt to play it safe. You back out until it clears up.
And not long after you do, Brother Vernon rushes out, looking terrified. Fortunately, you happen to be in exactly the right spot to catch him.
“What’s got you so upset?” you ask.
“They’re not moving!” he cries out. “I, I don’t know what to do!”
Not moving. That gets you worried.
“As in, unconscious?”
“As in, not moving at all! Though, um, now that you mention it, quite a number of them were also unconscious,” he says awkwardly. Then he stares at you. “Wait, you’re that Crow from earlier! What are you doing here?”
You wonder if it’s worth trying to maintain your cover, or if you should just get what info you can out of him while he’s scared.
