Swamped Chapter 136 Page 4

“Does that assessment of yours account for these?” you ask, pulling out the stone fish and the shell.

“No, but I don’t know how they work, either. There’s a difference between divine power and magic, and I don’t understand it well enough to know if it will work any better.”

Seems worth a try to you. You turn towards the ocean and hold up the artifacts.

There’s a small wave.

“Probably too much water for a bigger impact than that,” Marian says. “Or rather, it’s spread out too much. The water in the crypt was more or less in one place. The ocean is everywhere. Besides, I’m not sure what a bigger wave would even accomplish, besides making a bunch of sailors upset with you.”

She has a point. Even if you can figure out how to use these more effectively, what would you even do with them?

You aren’t sure yet, but these are the best weapons you have right now. So whatever your plan is, it’s probably going to make use of them one way or another.

  1. Call upon the combined power of Brume and Nual for whatever protection they’re worth and rush headlong into the water. They can guide you to the source of the disturbance and you can disrupt it in a way that they can’t.
